Child Safety & Tutor Code of Conduct

Last updated: August 2, 2026

The safety of students is the foundation of Tutor on Wheels. Every tutor on the platform agrees to the standards below, and parents can rely on them when choosing a tutor. If you ever have a concern, report it to us immediately through the contact page.

Our commitments

  • All tutors go through verification and approval before their profile is published.
  • In-home sessions run only at approved locations, during reasonable hours, and with a responsible adult aware the session is occurring.
  • Personal data about children is limited to what is reasonably needed and is never exposed in public profiles.
  • We take every report seriously, investigate fairly, and may suspend access during an investigation.

Tutor code of conduct

Every tutor must maintain respectful, professional, and safe conduct at all times, including:

  • Use respectful, inclusive, age-appropriate teaching and communication.
  • No corporal punishment, humiliation, sexual or romantic conduct, grooming, harassment, exploitation, discriminatory treatment, or inappropriate private contact.
  • No unauthorized transport, overnight stays, secret meetings, personal loans, or requests for money outside official payments.
  • No photography, recording, social posting, or use of a child's information without documented authorization from Tutor on Wheels and the parent or guardian.
  • Face-to-face sessions occur only at approved locations with reasonable adult awareness and a safe environment.
  • Online tutors use approved accounts and avoid unnecessary collection of personal information.
  • Serious concerns, suspected abuse, threats, or immediate danger must be escalated promptly to Tutor on Wheels and to appropriate authorities where required.
  • Tutor on Wheels may suspend access during an investigation and should preserve relevant records fairly and confidentially.

Parent & guardian role

For face-to-face sessions, a responsible adult should know that the session is occurring and remain reasonably accessible. Parents must inform us of relevant learning, behavioral, accessibility, allergy, medical-emergency, location, or safety considerations necessary for the session — limited to what is reasonably needed.

Reporting a concern

If you suspect abuse, immediate danger, or serious misconduct, contact us promptly via the contact page and, where required by law, the appropriate authorities. We will assess, preserve records, and act to protect the student while keeping the matter confidential.
